Review by Mom Does Reviews:

I was super excited when my Jumpin Jammerz came in the mail. I live in New Hampshire and warm pajamas are a necessity at my house. I received the Hot Pink Barbie Footed and Hooded Jumping Jammerz. I love my Jammerz! They are so soft and cuddly and warm! "This pajama is so soft and furry inside and out we call it 'Cuddlllicious' material preshrunk and fully machine washable." It's true, they are Cuddllicious! They have front pockets, great for your hands or many other things. The sleeves have the comfortable wrist bands and have thumb holes so your sleeves don't ride up. My favorite part is the hood! I have never owned footie pajamas with a hood attached! If your head is cold, you can never get warm! Now I can warm up all over with my Jammerz! I love the whole jammerz package! They really thought their product through and asked the right moms what would make them Jump for Jammerz:) There is even a little chest pocket where you could keep your mp3 player or smart phone. Jumpin Jammerz stands behind their product. They offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee! Their first priority is providing comfort to their customers and after wearing my Jammerz for only a few minutes, I knew they had succeeded! Their Jammerz are made with the highest quality fabrics and made to withstand years of wear. You won't ever need to buy another pair of footie pajamas if you own Jammerz! Visit Jumpin Jammerz today and browse through over 220 different colors and styles. Mom Does Reviews gives Jumpin Jammerz a big 5 out of 5 stars! I love my Jammerz! Please excuse me while I go put them on.

Silly Saturday: Kids in Church

Kids in Church
  • A Sunday school class was studying the Ten Commandments. They were ready to discuss the last one. The teacher asked if anyone could tell her what it was. Susie raised her hand, stood tall, and quoted, "Thou shall not take the covers off the neighbor's wife."

  • I had been teaching my three-year old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord's Prayer. For several evenings at bedtime, she would repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer: "Lead us not into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us some E-mail. Amen."

  • One Sunday in a Midwest City, a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour. The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew, but, were losing the battle. Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out. Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation, "Pray for me! Pray for me!"

  • And one particular four-year old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

  • A little boy was overheard praying: "Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."

  • A Sunday school teacher asked her little children, as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

  • The preacher was wired for sound with a lapel mike, and as he preached, he moved briskly about the platform, jerking the mike cord as he went. Then he moved to one side, getting wound up in the cord and nearly tripping before jerking it again. After several circles and jerks, a little girl in the third pew leaned toward her mother and whispered, "If he gets loose, will he hurt us?"

  • Six-year old Angie and her four-year old brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough. "You're not supposed to talk out loud in church." "Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked. Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers."

  • A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"

  • A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore, where a seagull lay dead in the sand. "Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the dad replied. The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"

  • After the church service a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money." "Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?" "Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had."

  • A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six-year old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"

  • At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny, a child in the kindergarten class, seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying as though he were ill, and said. "Johnny what is the matter?" Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife....!"

Math Blaster Review and Giveaway Ends 03/31

We've teamed up with a group of bloggers to bring you another giveaway! Thank you to Pam at Mom Does Reviews

Math Blaster- the best way to practice math!

Math Blaster
Math Blaster, created by Knowledge Adventure, is a browser-based virtual world full of adventure, aliens, mutts, and math! There are many places to explore once you launch the math game, most of which function similarly to arcade games. Blasters can build their math skills by visiting the Academy and the Job Board, and there are other fun games in the Space Port, as well. In our newest area, the Monster Mutt Rescue Dome, Blasters can adopt and raise their very own alien pet!

The Review by Mom Does Reviews:

My son loves computer games, virtual worlds and video games. I was very excited to get a subscription to Math Blaster from Knowledge Adventure. My son was a big Jump Start fan for years. Just recently, we cut out all of his online game subscriptions. When I learned about Math Blaster, I knew he would love it. His first reaction was that it was for babies. He grew up on Knowledge Adventure Jump Start programs, )I can remember him doing Jump Start Kindergarten like it was yesterday!) Now that he is in third grade, he likes to play the "cool" games like the ones on Cartoon Network or Addicting Games. I convinced him to try Math Blaster and he quickly changed his mind! Math Blaster is cool, fun, exciting and definitely not for babies. He was able to create a character, adopt a larvae, (which will grown into a mutt) and play all kinds of games. In less than 10 minutes, he was hooked! His favorite game is Red Alert. Red Alert is an emergency alarm calling all Blasters to help protect the station from rapidly-approaching space debris and enemy forces trying to make their way onto the spaceship. When the emergency alarm goes off, players guide their Blasters to one of the three Red Alert portals to play a fun blasting game. They can utilize their Math Blaster training by blasting meteors and asteroids to keep the space station out of harms way. HyperBlast Training was another of his favorite games. Blasters race through a high-speed tunnel packed with alien robots, razor sharp obstacles and mind-bending math! He had to answer multiplication questions in order to get through the tunnel. He loved the action and graphics. As a parent, I love having technology that makes learning fun! My son has used a computer since he could hold the mouse. Interacting with any computer games is a natural learning environment for him. Math Blaster is a hit in my opinion. Math Blaster makes learning multiplication easier. My son is learning multiplication in school right now and needs to be able to answer all the problems in under 1 minute. The HyperBlast training is perfect for learning multiplication facts and learning them fast! The Math Blaster blog has a lot of extra information for parents and announcements of new additions to the game. Be sure to check out the the Game Guide to learn more about all the games offered on Math Blaster. Mom Does Reviews highly recommends Math Blaster for kids ages 5 to 10. Find out how you can get your child a membership below.

The Giveaway:

Thanks to Knowledge Adventure for providing one lucky winner a three- month membership to Math Blaster! This Giveaway is open Worldwide! The Giveaway ends 3/31 1201am. Disclosure: I was provided with a membership good for Math Blaster and Knowledge Adventure at no cost by Knowledge Adventure in order to test the products’ abilities and give my own personal opinions on it. The opinions I have given are mine and may differ from others but were not influenced by the company or the free product provided.~Pam at Mom Does Reviews

Review by Mom Does Reviews:

Fit Moms for Life: How to Have Endless Energy to Outplay Your Kids, seems like the most fun and logical way for moms to get in shape. The whole book is based on common sense and tested theories. There are so many success stories throughout the book, after reading it, I felt ready to jump up and start exercising. The whole concept is a positive approach to getting the "old me" back after having kids, health problems, emotional problems and more.

My favorite chapter in the book is Chapter 5: Food as Fuel. The 16 Rules to Eat By made me rethink my whole grocery shopping experience, cooking style and menu planning. My favorite rule, #13, Give yourself 2 to 3 cheat meals a week, really sold me on Dustin's Fit Moms experience. If you know you can indulge and have pizza and a greasy cheeseburger, you will be more likely to stick to your diet the other 33 meals that week. Often times after I splurge on one "bad meal," I get discouraged and don't go back to my diet. I am punishing myself for not having willpower to Just Say No to that huge ice cream sundae. Knowing its OK to cheat occasionally makes the program more realistic for me and many other moms!

The New Rules of Cardio chapter was also a winner! The whole concept of cutting out that 30 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical was the best news I've heard all day. I love the idea of doing Burst Training. You would do high impact or high intensity training for 10 secs to 1 minutes (like climbing the stairs, swimming, jumping jacks, even laying on the floor throwing a tantrum) then you let your body recover. At first your rest period is 4 times as long as the work period, but as you get fitter, you can cut the ratio down until you are doing 30 seconds on 30 seconds off. This raises the heart rate and burns more calories than spending hours burning a low number of calories.

Other things I loved about Fit Moms for Life:
  • This book was written for moms, not overweight middle-aged men. It relates everything to mom-type activities. It makes the book so much easier to relate to.
  • We learn to change our minds first in order to change our bodies! Put yourself first, believe change is possible, get rid of negative influences and practice positive thinking are areas that mom's tend to put away when they have children. It's hard to take time for yourself, but it's so important.
  • There is a workbook/journal section for documenting your journey. Nothing helps you stick to you goals more than putting it in writing. Having a place to put your beginning and before pictures and measurements will help you see what you can and have accomplished.
  • There is a chapter dealing with creating a fit atmosphere for your whole family. My son needs a more active lifestyle! He learns to be a TV, computer and gaming boy by watching his parents. I need to take Dustin's advice and Keep Moving!
  • The book includes FREE Bonuses! Who doesn't love getting things for free? There are 2 video series, an audio Flat Stomach Coaching Series and downloadable report on How to Make this your Fittest Year Ever.
  • Dustin's Blog is a wealth of information. It highlights success stories, boot camps, Mama tones, supplements and more. Visit his blog here.
Overall, Mom Does Reviews gives Fit Moms for Life 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to any mom who feels like they can't get their old body back. You can do it with Fit Moms!

Knot Genie Review and Giveaway Ends 3/18

Knot Genie Review/Giveaway
this review is done By Emptynester Reviews and Giveaways.
I was not coerced in anyway to provide a positive review
or in exchange for any monetary reimbursement .

My Review:  I took the Knot Genie over to my God Child Kelli Jo's house, asking if I could brush her hair.(she has long blond ringlets I just love!) She had been outside playing with her brother so she pulled off her stocking hat and said, "sure." The Knot Genie was awesome! It glided right through her hair, when it would catch a little, it would release right away, gliding through the rest. After about 3 strokes per area, it was snarl free, her ringlets were cute as a button! She was so happy that it didn't dig at her head or pull her hair out, as was I!  I would have felt bad if I would have hurt her.
This brushes teeth are staggered, and bend easily so they don't catch in a snarl and hold on tight until you pull it loose, taking hair roots with it. I love it and so does Kelli Jo and her mommy!
Kelli Jo had to try it on my hair also, and her mom's, we were all impressed/amazed at the ease and pain free hair brushing session we got!
I definitely recommend Knot Genie to all ages!
P.S. My mom had my hair cut short when I was a child for not standing still and whining when she brushed my hair, I don't think it was my fault though, she pulled hard!!

Magically gets rid of knots. Not to mention complaining.
The Knot Genie™ Detangling Brush was created for every mom that has endured the foot stomping and screaming matches that come with brushing their child's hair. With the Knot Genie, even the curliest, most knotted up hair practically slips through the unique bristle configuration – gently and painlessly. Try the Knot Genie on your kids (or on yourself) – you'll be amazed by the ease of brushing, as well as how it virtually stops breakage and split ends. You've wished for hair brushing standoffs to end. Wish granted.

Silly Saturday: Raising Boys

RAISING BOYS

a) For those with no children - this is hilarious.

b) For those who already have children past this age, this is hilarious.
c) For those who have children this age, this is not funny.
d) For those who have children nearing this age, this is a warning.
e) For those who have not yet had children, this is birth control.

The following came from an anonymous mother in London, Ontario...

Things I've learned from my boys (honest and not kidding):
1.) A king size water bed holds enough water to fill a 2000 square foot
house 4 inches deep.
2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller
blades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong
enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman
cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint
on all four walls of a 20x20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. When
using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times
before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by
a ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too
late.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
9.) A six-year old boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a
36-year old man says they can only do it in the movies.
10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old
boy.
11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.
12.) Super glue is forever.
13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't
walk on water.
14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
15.) VCR's do not eject peanut butter & jelly sandwiches even though TV
commercials show they do.
16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odour is.
19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not
like ovens.
20.) The fire department in London has a 5-minute response time.
21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.
23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
24.) 80% of men who read this will try mixing Clorox and brake fluid.
25.) Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or
without kids.

Memory On Hand Review and Giveaway Ends 3/16

Review By: Emptynester savings

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society
Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers

My Review: This is a must have gadget for every household, for kids-adults. Everyone needs USB storage these days for school work, picture/media storage, just backed up files off your hard drive of your PC/Laptop. Both my children, have carried the small USB thumb drives for years and constantly are searching in the bottom of their book bags for them and constantly losing them. They are never easily handy when they need them. You know the ones, keychain style that are small and black in color. MoH has come up with the solution! Numerous colored bracelet type USB storage you can wear on your wrist, clip around a belt loop, or even a strap on your purse or book bag. They have a nice tight closure that will not just open up and fall off, a major PLUS! They come in 2 or 4gb sizes depending on your needs you can choose from so many different styles and colors its fun! Everywhere you look these days people are wearing the rubberized wristbands for all different causes they support, these are just like them only cuter and functional! I absolutely love the one I got in the Milkyway colors as shown above in the blue, pink and black. It is brightly colored to not get lost easily and ready when I need to take it to get pictures printed at WalMart. I just ordered 2 more for each of my children to use, they always need new ones as they lose them, not I can be rest assured that they will be safely, securely, off to their endeavors with an MoH Band!

My daughter is in the RN nursing Program in a local college and my son is a junior in High School and they both use USB's on a regular basis.

My son's school went all Macbooks 2 yrs ago. Everything they do is off the laptop the school provides, papers, projects as well as homework. He uses his as back up for EVERYTHING!

You never know when you might drop that laptop and be out of luck for school the next day.

Overall rating from me= 5 STARS!!

The story behind the MoHBand™

The MoH Band™ was first conceived as a classroom project at Babson College in 2010. Andrew Kitzenberg, the founder of Memory on Hand, had lost numerous flash drives during his time at Babson.  Regularly using them to backup papers and projects, there was usually a minor meltdown when one was lost. Realizing that many other students were having this same problem, Andrew conceived a new USB wristband that would be a fitting product solution. It was easy to keep track of and allowed him to always carry his important files on him. After playing around with the idea and testing designs Andrew saw the benefits of the MoH Band™ firsthand as he wore the initial prototype.  At semester's end Andrew had completed delivery on his first sale and decided to pursue the business after graduating. Since graduating in May of 2010, Andrew partnered up with friend and classmate Jeff Brayer and together they have brought the MoH Band™ to students all over the country.

Memory on Hand donates 10% of profits to Scholarship America CHARITY to support educating America's youth!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2012

What is the Great Cloth Diaper Change?

History:  Judy Aagard’s desire to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a family event for the Tiny Tots community quickly morphed into a dream to set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously.  Shortly thereafter, The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2011 was conceived and organized by a small group of cloth diaper enthusiasts that were eager to demonstrate that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s families.

Last year 5,026 participants at 127 locations in 5 countries simultaneously changed their babies into cloth diapers.  The total number of participating hosts (not all qualified) reporting were 203 with 6,363 participants from 10 countries!

This year, the plan is to breaking the records that were set in 2011 on Saturday, April 21, 2012! The Great Cloth Diaper Change will be the grand finale of the International Cloth Diaper Awareness Week, April 16 to 21, 2012.

Help us break the record this year!

Doospy Cloth Diaper Inserts Review & Giveaway

Doopsy® Diapers... Affordability meets Quality!

I am a cloth diaper addict. I admit, I get super excited to test out cloth diapering products.
One important factor when you get into cloth diapering is the inserts. A diaper is only as good as it's insert, right?
 I was sent :
1 Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo Terry Insert - 3 Layers
1 Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo, Hemp & Organic Cotton Insert - 4 Layers
1 Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo Fleece Insert - 4 Layers
1 Doopsy Bamboo Terry Pocket Insert with PUL and 1 Microfiber Insert that fits in the pocket

I was most looking forward to trying the Bamboo Terry Pocket Insert. This is a really great idea. The insert is a pocket with a layer of PUL that gives you extra protection against leaks.
This is especially good for over nights. I tested this out with my 3 year old. He is day time trained, but still needs a diaper for nights. I stuffed the insert into a large AMP Duo, and waited for morning. You can see below how well the Pocket Insert fills out the large AMP.
Morning came with dry sheets and a soaking wet insert. No dampness on his PJ's, always a good sign. Next I tried the Hemp Bamboo combo overnight in a Flip cover. Once again, dry sheets, dry PJ's. We did have one leak. I used the 3 layer bamboo insert in a small AMP Duo for a nap. The 3 layer works ok for day time, but it will not be in my regular rotation. The bamboo inserts are a bit on the small side, which might account for the leak. Here you can see it on top of a medium insert, and it is noticeably smaller.

I decided to see how the inserts absorb, using the same method I use for my So Many Insert Choices post. I immersed each insert in warm water for 60 seconds, and measured how much water was absorbed by each insert.

Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo Terry Insert - 3 Layers- 9 ounces
Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo, Hemp & Organic Cotton Insert - 12 ounces
Doopsy Heavy Duty Bamboo Fleece Insert - 4 Layers- 10 ounces
Doopsy Bamboo Terry Pocket Insert with PUL and 1 Microfiber Insert - 19 ounces

All I can say is WOW! The Pocket insert have absorbed more water in 1 minute than any other insert I have tested. A must for night time diapering!

I have been very impressed with the Doopsy inserts. One hurdle to cloth diapering for some people is the price. Doopsy provides quality diapers and an affordable price, and offers options to customize your diaper for your needs. Doopsy diapers start at $15.95 and go up to $17.95 depending on the type of the second insert that comes with the diaper. No matter what style you buy, there is one 4 layers microfiber insert that comes with it.

Buy it:

If You Give A Mom A Muffin....

If you give a Mom a muffin.....

If you give a mom a muffin,
She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
Her three-year-old will spill the coffee.
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she'll find dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her
she has to plan for supper.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She'll look for her cookbook
("101 Things To Do With a Pound of Hamburger" ).
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The check book is in her purse
that is being dumped out by her two-year-old.
She'll smell something funny.
She'll change the two-year-old's diaper.
While she is changing the diaper, the phone will ring.
Her five-year-old will answer and hang up.
She'll remember she wants to phone a friend for coffee.
Thinking of coffee will remind her
that she was going to have a cup.
And chances are... If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.
