The 5 week Review

So I have been contacting different companies and WAHMs to review their products over the next 5 weeks.  I have gotten some of the companies/WAHMs from the ideas that you guys gave me during the What to Expect the Toddler Years Giveaway.  And some I have got from places that I absolutely love.

So some companies/WAHMs have declined while others have given me things to review as well as some have even sponsored giveaways themselves.

Originally I wanted to start the 5 week review on June 23, however there has been a little snag in that.  The 5 week giveaway will start on July 5th, 2010!

I wanted to give a little sneak peak as to some of the companies/WAHMs I will be reviewing:
TwoLittleMonkeys
Punkin Booty Bits
TKCuddler
My Diaper Addiction

And several more...but again this is a sneak peek.  I will be doing 2 reviews a week for 5 weeks totaling 10 reviews.  10 chances to win a What to Expect the Toddler Years book as well as possibly winning a giveaway from the place I am reviewing.

The Friday before the 5 week review starts I will post who I will be reviewing and what week....but you won't know till the Review what I have to giveaway!

In the meantime....head over to the Crunchy Clean giveaway!

The What to Expect The Toddler Years has closed.....

And our winner for the first book is.....

One month of nothing but free

Search & WinI am going to take the next month from June 6th to July 6th and try to get as much free things as I can doing normal every day things.  Some ways I will do this is by using Swagbucks.  My current Swagbucks account has 67 Swagbucks *as I just redeemed most of it for 2 gift cards to Me!Bath.  I am going to earn cash doing reviews and opinion polls and search the web for other ways to earn. I will also attempt to resurrect my ChaCha! account and earn that way.  I will post every week what I have done and what I have earned and see just how much I come up with at the end of the month.  Then towards the end of July I will verify all funds received.  My goal- I want to try to get atleast $100 in free items/cash.  Is it obtainable?  We will see.  If you want to follow along and do the same just post a comment and let me know that you are going to do it too.  Then every week when I make my post, just post a comment and let me know just how much you got too!

Crunchy Clean: Review and Giveaway Ends June 30! ~ CLOSED ~

Crunchy Clean: All Natural, Earth Friendly Cleaning

I chose to review Crunchy Clean detergent for cloth diapers because after using it for the first, second, and many times after I thought that it deserved a review. Prior to purchasing Crunchy Clean I had heard of Crunchy Clean, they are a leading brand recognized by many as a very cloth safe detergent.

From the website:

This amazing clothes and CLOTH DIAPER SAFE detergent is ALL NATURAL and ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

This cloth diaper detergent special blend of naturally occurring minerals, detergents, oxygen releasing agents that have proven to clean diapers in a safe way that does not harm your precious baby or your diapers. It does work to kill bacteria, and works great in any temperature wash and any type of machine. You can use it to soak your diapers to kill germs or get rid of stains as well as wash your diapers regularly.

  • No optical brighteners, fillers, dyes, or enzymes.
  • Great for military use!
  • Clean rinsing - an extra rinse isn't necessary!
  • No soap to build up in your diapers.
  • HE compatible.
  • Great for all of your family's clothing and diapers.

We now have a hard water specific laundry soap.

We have worked hard to find all natural ingredients that would be safe for the earth and our families but also effectively block the minerals so that the ingredients meant to CLEAN your diapers would be able to (without expensive additives!)

All but ONE of our testers with hard water ranging from slightly to very hard either LIKED or LOVED the detergent, and all of those testers would recommend to a friend!  If you have hard water and/or have a difficult time getting your laundry CLEAN, try this!
It also works great for those of us with "normal" water as well!

When I got the bag in the mail I was so excited.  I love the packaging.  It was in a brown recyclable bag with the logo written right on it.  The bag is resealable which makes it easy to keep the smell in and to keep the detergent from becoming clumpy (like most detergents do when left out).

I decided to soak my diapers overnight because I had a HUGE odor coming from them.  I added around 5 Tbsp of crunchy clean and hot water and just let them soak in the tub overnight.  The next morning I went in and the water was a really gross color.  (Sorry no pictures.  Did not decide till later to do the review).  I had soaked them in Monkey Farts.  And let me tell you that is such a divine smell.  A mix of so many fruity and nutty smells (in my opinion). So I proceeded to take them to the washer. I did a normal wash but without adding any additional soak or an extra rinse.  I took them out to the clothes line and let them dry.  I really was hesitant to go out there and get them.  However, when I went out and got them they were so nice and fresh and had NO smell at all.

Now for the big test.  Once my baby girl went potty...would they smell?  Absolutely not!  There has been no smell in my diapers at all.  I was completely astonished that there was no smell.  I mean I had been using another brand for 5 months and I had heard raves but they left my diapers wanting.

I proceeded that night to soak my daughters' clothes overnight to see just how clean I could get them.  Now ming you I have two daughters so that means only some of their clothes went in the tub.  Bam! The next day there was yuckies in the tub.  So I did the wash, hung them out, and oh such a sweet smell.

I have been using Crunchy Clean exclusively for about a month on my diapers as well as all of our clothes. I just recently received a bag of Mintrus.  Oh my.  This smell is great.  I smell so much different smells with it but the mint is definitely there.  Now my husband LOVES this one since he loves mint.

I also have to say I really like the auto-ship that Crunchy Clean has.  This is what I have signed up for.  I have signed up to receive the SCENT OF THE MONTH each month and I do not have to think about ordering it.  You do not have to chose this option but I think it makes life much easier.

What does Crunchy Clean have to offer in the lines of detergent?  Well besides all different scents and amounts, they offer BOTH cloth diaper detergent AND everyday detergent.  They also offer both HARD water and SOFT water formulas.

Would you like to try some? Here is your chance!

This giveaway will have 3 winners.  Two winners will receive a sample of Crunchy Clean of their choice of scent.  The grand price will be a $25 gift certificate for any item(s) located on the Crunchy Clean site.
